Who We Are

The Slaton City Library  is located in Slaton, Texas. The Slaton City Library provides free services to all residents living within the state of Texas.

The library system holds over 11,000 materials including over 10,000 books, and 150 books on cassette or CD's. Over 150 VHS movies are also now available for check-out.

In total, over 10,000 items were checked out of the system during fiscal year 2006-2007! In addition to these items, hundreds of people entered the library to utilize print and electronic reference resources, access the Internet through the Library’s wireless connection, browse the stacks and read the periodicals and local newspapers.

Our Mission

The Slaton City Library is the free public library of Slaton, Texas.  The library provides informational and educational services to all adults and juveniles residing in Slaton, Texas; it provides the most-wanted materials, print and non-print, as defined by public demands and fiscal ability; it develops broad community awareness of the library and its services; and it supplements , but not necessarily duplicates, the materials and/or services of other local libraries.
